Adriatic Odyssey – Croatia to Slovenia

Our morning cruise will bring us to the island of Vis, the highlight of today’s exploration, but not without a stop for a swim in the stunning Mediterranean. Vis is a pearl among Adriatic islands, untouched by tourism for many years.Its strategic location on the open sea preserved its pristine beauty, as it was a military zone.

Vis is now celebrated for its beautiful beaches, unspoiled nature, ecological agriculture, and well-preserved architecture. Embrace the island’s charm with an afternoon tour, including a visit to the famous coastal town of Komiža. Enjoy a group dinner here before returning to the ship, docked in the town of Vis for the night.

Our morning sail leads us to the Island of Biševo, famed for its enchanting Blue Cave. Accesible by boat if water levels permit, or by dive below sea level for the adventurous, we’ll experience its captivating deep blue and shiny silver hues mystical blue depths for an unforgettable experience.

After a delightful onboard lunch, continue the journey through stunning bays and coves to Hvar, the sunniest island in Croatia. Hvar is celebrated as one of the country’s premier tourist destinations and a hotspot for international jet-setters.

Immerse in the island’s history and culture while strolling through its streets and discovering its century-old lavender farming tradition. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before heading back to the ship, docked in the historical town for the night.

Our day begins with a morning departure, setting sail forBol, renowned for having Croatia’s best beach for swimming, Zlatni Rat (the Golden Cape). Upon arrival, relax at a charming coffee shop, explore the town, or take a refreshing swim at the beach before returning to the ship for lunch.

Afterward, enjoy a scenic lunch on the ship as we sail to Trogir, another UNESCO World Heritage gem. Explore this quaint town’s museum and its stone houses, palaces, churches, monasteries, towers, and walls. The day’s highlight is the Cathedral of St. Lawrence, a stunning example of sacral architecture. This evening we’ll remain docked in Trogir’s old town overnight and indulge our senses with the Captain’s dinner and live music!

This morning, we cruise into Split, Croatia’s vibrant second-largest city, rich with 1,700 years of history. An English-speaking guide will lead us on a tour of the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1979, including Diocletian’s Palace and its renowned landmarks.

After the guided tour, enjoy the afternoon at your own pace. Revisit any sights that caught your eye or wander the narrow, cobblestone streets, discovering hidden gems, charming cafés, and local boutiques. This evening, we’ll come together for dinner at a local restaurant in Split before heading back to the MV Ambassador for our final night on board.

This morning, discover the charm of Šibenik, a compact old town filled with medieval alleys, fortress-ringed stairways, and the stunning Renaissance Cathedral of St. James, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Set on the picturesque Adriatic coast where the Krka River flows into the sea, Šibenik is an atmospheric gem waiting to be explored.

In the afternoon, we transfer to Zadar for a captivating tour of its historic center, best explored on foot. Walk along the defensive walls built by the Venetians in the 16th century, beginning at the Port Gate, where the Venetian Lion still stands guard. Visit the Square of the Five Wells, the Church of St. Donat, the 1st-century BC Roman Forum, and St. Anastasia’s Cathedral, the largest in Dalmatia. This evening, enjoy relaxing at our luxurious 5-star coastal wellness hotel, known for its tranquil natural setting.

Today, we journey to Plitvice National Park, Croatia’s largest and most celebrated natural wonder. Start with a traditional Lika County lunch, savoring regional dishes that highlight the essence of Croatian cuisine. Afterward, explore the park’s mesmerizing lakes and waterfalls, which earned it UNESCO World Heritage status in 1979. Nestled in the mountains of Lika, Plitvice is renowned as one of Europe’s most beautiful natural parks.

In the afternoon, we continue to Ljubljana, Slovenia, preparing for the final leg of our adventure.

Today begins with a guided morning tour of Ljubljana, Slovenia’s scenic capital. Explore the picturesque banks of the Ljubljanica River, the vibrant Tromostovje Square, and the majestic Cathedral in the historic old town center. After discovering the highlights of the capital, travel to Lake Bled, with a stop for an authentic Slovenian lunch in the charming village of Radovljica.

Following lunch, experience why Lake Bled is celebrated as a top Alpine resort with its stunning beauty and mild climate. Board a traditional Pletna boat to the enchanting island at the lake’s heart and visit the iconic 15th-century Church of the Assumption. Then, ascend to Bled Castle, perched on a steep cliff, for panoramic views and a look into its chapel, wine cellar, and museum featuring Gutenberg’s printing press

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we bid Slovenia ‘Nasvidenje’ and make our way to the airport for our flights home. Guests arriving at the Toronto airport are greeted and assisted to their private car home.
