DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1

DEPART FOR ZAGREB, CROATIA

Start your Journey with us by enjoying a private car pick up service from your home. Upon arrival at the airport, guests departing from the Toronto airport are assisted with their check-in. Meet your Journey Manager and fellow guests, and board your flights to Croatia. Our Journey Manager travels with you to take care of all the details, allowing you to embrace your Journey.

Day 2

ZAGREB, CROATIA

On arrival in Zagreb, we are met by our local guide and board our private coach for a brief introduction to the city before arriving at our hotel. Take the afternoon at leisure to explore the area. The capital of Croatia, Zagreb, has a charming and medieval old city. Sitting at the foot of the Medvednica Mountain, Zagreb has no shortage of green spaces, as well as street art and innovative building designs. Tonight, join us this evening for a welcome dinner at our hotel.

Day 3

EXPLORING ZAGREB

Our day begins with a panoramic tour of the city as we pass sights like the National Theater, Mimara Museum, and Academy of Arts and Sciences. We ride a funicular built in 1889 to reach the enchanting Upper Town quarter from Lower Town. Imbued with rich Roman heritage there is plenty to explore. After lunch, the time is yours to discover. Travel on foot to St. Mark’s Square, where you can view the Parliament Building and charming St. Mark’s Church or visit the Ban Jelacic Square, which divides the old and new regions of the city. This evening, join your fellow travellers for dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 4

LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA

The picturesque capital of Slovenia has held the prestigious title of European Green Capital, in recognition of its commendable environmental record. Ljubljana’s unique character is made up of the influences of various cultures, while its distinctive image is the result of its diverse and alluring history. A charming city filled with romantic bridges, exquisite architecture, Ljubljana is full of vibrant cultural creativity. This morning we travel by coach to Ljubljana. On arrival, enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before discovering the old city centre at the top of a hill, a lovely open-air market, the three century-old bridges, the stunning baroque Town Hall and Robba’s Fountain. Tonight, dinner will be served at our hotel.

Day 5

BLED

Bled’s scenery is impossibly romantic with a church on an island in the middle of an emerald-green lake and an 11th-century medieval castle sitting above on a cliff nearby. Our first stop is at the oldest castle in Slovenia, Bled Castle, perched atop a steep cliff above the glacial lake. Following lunch, we take a traditional ‘Pletna’ rowing boat on a quiet voyage to visit the Church of Mary the Queen. It is here that you will find the bell of wishes, legend says that those who ring the bell and make a wish, will see their wish come true. We return to Ljubljana and enjoy dinner at our hotel.

Day 6

PLITVICE LAKES NATIONAL PARK, CROATIA

Sparkling waters have gushed over limestone rocks for thousands of years at Plitvice Lakes National Park. The UNESCO-listed site is famed for cascading waterfalls and abundant wildlife. Explore on foot along the many elevated, wooden trails to see the stunning lower lakes up close. This natural wonder’s breathtaking scenery includes 16 gorgeous lakes, separated by natural dams, surrounded by thickly wooded mountains and lush vegetation. Following our visit, a scenic drive takes us on to Zadar, one of the jewels of the Adriatic.

Day 7

ZADAR & SPLIT

Zadar is a city surrounded by historical ramparts, a treasury of the archaeological and monumental riches of ancient and medieval times such as the first Sea Organ in the world. This morning we take a short walking tour that introduces you to St. Donat’s Church.

Then we travel by coach to Split and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before embarking on the MV Nautilus, our private yacht for the next 7 nights. All meals will be served on board unless otherwise stated. Take time to settle in, then enjoy Roman architecture on a guided tour of atmospheric Split. A welcome meet and greet cocktail reception awaits us on board.

Day 8

HVAR

We cruise to the isle of Brač this morning, to enjoy the most famous shingled beach in Dalmatia, Zlatni Rat, where the wind and waves constantly cause the beach shape to change in dramatic and impressive ways. We continue towards the jet-set island of Hvar with a stop for lunch on board in sight of the Pakleni Islands. Hvar is the longest and sunniest island in the Adriatic known for lush lavender fields and breathtaking beauty. We arrive in the afternoon and enjoy a tour of the town’s historical landmarks, the Renaissance cathedral with its original tower, and the oldest community theatre in Europe. Hike up the zig-zag path to the town fort overlooking the harbour for lovely scenic views of our ship and the Pakleni islands.

Day 9

BIŠEVO & BLUE CAVE

We cruise towards the small island Biševo to visit the famed Blue cave, a magnificent natural phenomenon. We then continue to the island of Vis, once a strategic naval Yugoslav base, it now holds the charm of the way “the Mediterranean as it once was” due to it being closed to the public for years. Spend the afternoon at your leisure to explore this island on your own. Savour some local wines, stroll around admiring remarkable sights or take a walk to enjoy the views of the beautiful Villae Rusticae situated along the waterfront.

Day 10

KORČULA

An early morning departure towards the enchanting island of Korčula, best known as the birthplace of Marco Polo. Our afternoon arrival in Korčula is followed by a guided walking tour of one of the best-preserved medieval cities in the Mediterranean. This evening we travel to a small village for a typical Dalmatian dinner, accompanied by fascinating historic and traditional insights. Get ready to tantalize your taste buds and learn more about the history and traditional way of living!

Day 11

MLJET

We cruise further south to the Island of Mljet. Legend has it that Greek hero Odysseus spent years on this island when he was captured by the nymph Calypso. Surrounded by lush forests, this island of myth displays the remnants of Illyrian and Roman settlements. Join our guide for a stroll to the famous salt lakes in the Mljet National Park and enjoy a boat ride to St. Mary Isle to visit an ancient Benedictine monastery, an old abbey and a Church dating back to the 12th century. Alternatively, spend time at your leisure exploring this breathtaking destination.

Day 12

SLANO

Depart for the small village of Slano on the mainland, a peaceful fishermen’s village and the starting point for Ston, a once fortified small village famous for its oysters.

Inhabited since prehistoric times, picturesque Slano is peppered with ancient ruins and pine forests that frame a peaceful bay. We then take a short coach ride to the nearby fortified village of Ston. After exploring the town’s vast medieval ramparts, a short coastal walk leads us to an oyster farm to learn more about oysters and a special tasting of this delicacy. This evening join us for the Captain’s farewell dinner with live entertainment.

Day 13

DUBROVNIK

Today we have an early morning departure for Dubrovnik, the most famous town along the Dalmatian coast. It’s now considered one of the world’s most spectacular walled cities, with a pedestrian-only Old Town. Before we tie up at Gruž harbour, we cruise alongside the old Dubrovnik city walls while lunch is served on deck. After docking, transfer to the old town for the guided walking tour of this magical town. Many of the monuments belong to the modest Renaissance architecture with traces of Gothic style from the time of the old Dubrovnik Republic. Take the cable car from the Old Town to Srđ mountain to enjoy scenic views of the walls and Elaphiti Islands. If you feel energetic, enjoy a walk on top of the 1,940-metre long city walls.

Day 14

KOTOR, MONTENEGRO

After breakfast, we disembark the MV Infinity and board our private coach for a scenic drive through the countryside to the medieval town of Perast, Montenegro. On arrival, a short boat ride takes us to the Bay to visit the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks which houses one of the finest collections of wall paintings. We continue to Kotor and enjoy lunch before our walking tour of the old town with our local guide. We visit the Maritime Museum and Romanesque 11th-century Cathedral of St Triphun encircled by walls and fortresses included on the UNESCO`s World Heritage List. We return to Dubrovnik, where dinner is served at our hotel.

Day 15

CAVTAT, CROATIA

This morning we travel along the Adriatic coast and through the Konavle Valley to Cavtat, the southernmost town in Croatia. Full of culture & history, Cavtat is a town located south of Dubrovnik, encircled by two peninsulas frequented by numerous sailors and yacht enthusiasts. We explore the old town on foot and visit the birthplace of a famous Croatian painter, Vlaho Bukovac. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before returning to Dubrovnik. The remainder of the day will be yours to relax or to continue exploring on your own. This evening join us for our farewell dinner.

Day 16

HOME
